BUILDING MEASUREMENT |
This course is designed as an introduction for students who wish to obtain a working knowledge of measurement of building works in accordance with the Standard Method of Measurement (SMM7). It may also be of benefit to those who have acquired some knowledge and wish to further improve their skills.
The course consists of taking-off quantities and becoming familiar with Quantity Surveying duties and terminology including billing. The course consists of an excellent reference book together with a work manual but does NOT include a Standard Method of Measurement as most companies have a copy.

On completion of the course the student should be able to take off quantities for a variety of building works from a series of architectural drawings, schedules and specification and prepare a draft Bill of Quantities in standard format capable of being priced. On satisfactory completion a Premier School of Building diploma in Building Measurement (single subject) will be awarded.
The course may be commenced at any time and should be completed within 3 months (i.e. 80 hours of study) depending on the students’ previous knowledge of the subject.
