LEGAL
STUDIES (CONSTRUCTION)
The course is designed as an introduction for students who
wish to develop their competence and skills related to legal
studies which will include reference to contracts and their
application within the construction industry. It may also
be of benefit to students who have a working knowledge of
the subject and wish to broaden their thinking.
The course reading consists of lesson material and an excellent
reference book with fifteen lessons as follows;

6 - Transfer of Rights & Obligations (incorporating
7 & 8)
7 - Principal & Agents
8 - The Nature of a Tort
9 - Trespass to Land
10 - Nuisance (Rylands & Fletcher)
11 - Negligence
Law in Relation to Buildings
1 - Building Law
2 - Company & Partnership Law
3 - Employment Law
4 - Employers Liability
On completion of the course the student should be able to
appreciate the reasons why forms of contracts are used within
the construction industry and also be aware of the needs of
both parties to a contract and will receive a Premier School
of Building ‘Diploma ‘ to cover this work
The course may be commenced at any time and should be completed
within 3months (i.e.80 hours of study)depending upon the students
previous knowledge of the subject.
